Industrial robots have been employed for basic trimming applications for a number of years.
Traditionally they would be programmed on-line with the part for repetitive trimming of multiple identical parts during production cycles.
This method is great for multiple part repetitive processing.
We offer full trimming cells that are cost effective, easy to operate and often give a ROI (return on investment) within 12-18 months.
Of course there are often cases where the part or component is a one-off, and programming these can be time consuming and expensive. We use Delcam’s Powermill Robot Interface for this as the toolpaths are fully simulated and checked for collisions, singularities etc.
This program is then output directly to the robot without the need for costly manual programming.
