CNC Robotics had its origins in 2008 when Jason Barker was searching for a low-cost machining solution to aid his scenic construction company
When Jason couldn’t find anything suitable, he had his ‘ah-ha’ moment and set about developing a unique robotic system that could create large-scale props in intricate detail and with a quick turnaround. Spotting a gap in the market following his own success with the technology, Jason realised both the potential for using robotics as milling machines in the entertainment industry and the possibilities in other sectors that also needed a cost-effective tool for large-scale machining.
Over the next two years, the sale of robots for manufacturing became so successful that it took over from the set-building business and CNC Robotics was formed in 2010. The same year saw the creation of a strategic partnership with manufacturing software developer Delcam. Another two years saw CNC Robotics make its first international sales in South Africa and New Zealand, and a relocation to new premises at Sefton Business Park. In 2014, CNC Robotics formalised another key alliance, with robot manufacturer KUKA, and was named as one of the company’s strategic partners in the UK.
Our company’s unique mix of passion, tenacity and innovation has made us the UK’s market leaders in the supply of robots for machining, with customers in many industries and a growing reputation in the support of the technology in higher education establishments. Our expanding business has included the development of systems for a huge variety of manufacturing processes – cutting, drilling, gluing, lifting, milling, packing, painting, picking, placing, printing, sorting, trimming and welding to name just a few. It has allowed the recruitment of a diverse and talented team with the range of skills needed to develop and support solutions to manufacturing problems of all types.
